Fidel Castro has officially given up power in Cuba, brother Raúl will be the interim president. While many don’t expect much to happen with this change in power, Raúl has been pushing for reforms opposed by Fidel for years. The new leader has pushed for private ownership of food markets, increased tourism. In the past he has noted that he likes the Chinese model which would expand private business, but maintain a strong government. Mughniyeh, in his late 40s, had been variously described as special operations or intelligence chief of Hezbollah's secretive military wing, the Islamic Resistance. Correspondents say his death will be a significant blow to Hezbollah, which battled Israel in the 2006 Lebanon war, with help from its Iranian and Syrian backers. WASHINGTON (CNN) -- American fighter jets intercepted two Russian bombers, one of which buzzed a U.S. aircraft carrier in the western Pacific on Saturday, U.S. military officials told CNN Monday. A Tupolev-95 flies over the Izu Islands, just south of Tokyo on Saturday. Russia's Defense Ministry said Tuesday that there was no violation of flight regulations during the incident.
